Singing, "I'm not going back, I'm moving ahead."

"Jesus said, 'No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.'” - Luke 9:62 MSG

I love the song by Israel Houghton titled “Moving Forward.” I love the vocals, the production and most importantly the message. Israel is very clear about telling us that by God’s power we are moving forward, all things are new and there is nothing to look back to. One of the greatest keys, they teach Olympic runners like Usain Bolt and Michael Johnson, is to never look back while running a race. The Apostle Paul said it best, “…Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.” (Philippians 3:13 TLB)

Winners, I want to let you know that God is moving us forward by His grace. It doesn’t matter what the circumstances are, the setbacks or mistakes. God is advancing us and taking us to the next level. He told us in Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG), “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”

How do we allow God to move us forward? The answer is to move forward with God. Begin to put your trust in Him and move by faith. Do not be concerned with missing the mark. Do not allow fears to cripple you. Most importantly, don’t look back but look ahead at the vision that God has for you. When you do, by the end of the year, you’ll be further from where you first started, ready to enter the new year.
