From Faith to Reality
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
Society today teaches us seeing is believing. If they don’t see it physically with their own eyes, it’s hard for them to believe it. However, the above verse teaches us faith in God comes first then the manifestation. Our faith in God is more real than the physical realm and it overcomes the limitations of this world. This is why developing your faith is crucial. With that in mind, I want to share with you 3 examples of having faith first then came reality.
1. Sarah began in faith, then came strength for the supernatural.
“By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.” Hebrews 11:11
Sarah believed God first then she received strength. What’s remarkable about her story is, by today’s standard she was an elderly woman who had passed the age of child bearing. No amount of healthy living or medical procedures could have helped her. She needed a miracle from God. God visited her along with Abraham and gave them a promise. She believed what God said then she was strengthened. This caused her reproductive organs to function as a young woman.
Ultimately, she gave birth to her first child at the age of 90. Wow! Can you believe that? Of course you can. Likewise, as you decide to believe God you too will receive strength for the supernatural. Strength to give birth to the things God has promised you.
2. Rahab began in faith, then came her salvation.
“By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.” Hebrews 11:31
Rahab lived in a city that was going to be invaded and destroyed by Israel. Israel intended to kill everyone in this city. Instead of Rahab getting ready to fight with her people or run and hide, she made a wise decision of connecting with Israel. She believed God was with them and God was going to help them win. Notice the progression: she believed in God first, acted on what she believed, then came her salvation.
Like Rahab, we live in a world that is faced with various diseases that can lead to death. However, it will not affect you. Have faith in God that He will satisfy you with long life. Have faith that no plague will come near your dwelling. Rahab’s story ends by saying she and the members of her household dwelt in Israel all the days of their lives. I prophesy to you that you will live long, end strong and healthy. Even your mind will remain sharp in your last days.
3. Abraham began in faith, then came his obedience.
“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.” Hebrews 11:8
The Father comes to Abraham and tells him to go to a place that was unknown to Abraham. He had to leave the comfort of his home, the familiarity of his family and community. He didn’t know where. But his trust in God made it easy for him to enter into the unknown. I remember when God told me and my family to move to Brooklyn. This was at the time when rents and home prices in NYC were rising rapidly. I did not know how I was going to move, but I believed God spoke to me. Today, as a result of me believing God and walking by faith, I can testify that I live in one of the most expensive neighborhood in Brooklyn.
I want to end by asking, are you ready to make the Word of God your reality? If the answer is yes, believe everything that is written in it. Claim the Bible as God’s letter to you. Allow your faith in God to move you into action. Then give God thanks, praise and worship for your desired outcome.
