Sometimes change happens so gradually that you don’t recognize it. You may focus on how far you still have to go, while God sees how far you’ve already come.
The truth is, you are changing for the better!
Paul said that we are “being transformed into the same image from glory to glory” (2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV). God’s grace is working in you. Your thinking, reactions and priorities are changing. You are growing!
Here are four signs:
1. You Don’t React the Way You Used To
There was a time when one comment could ruin your entire day. You had to respond, defend yourself or prove your point.
Now you’re learning that everything doesn’t require a reaction.
Sometimes growth isn’t difficult people disappearing. It’s realizing they don’t have the same power over you anymore.
2. You Forgive Faster
You still get hurt and disappointed, but you’re learning not to live offended.
Ephesians 4:32 tells us to forgive others as God in Christ forgave us.
Maturity means refusing to allow what someone did to control your life. Release people and keep moving!
3. You’re Making Better Decisions
You’re making fewer decisions based purely on emotions. You’re praying, seeking wisdom and thinking about where your decisions will take you.
Better thinking produces better decisions, and better decisions produce a better life.
4. You’re Becoming More Generous
As you grow, life becomes less about what you can get and more about what you can give.
You begin asking, Who can I help? Who can I bless? What can I give?
Generosity includes your time, encouragement and resources—and yes, your finances too!
God wants to bless you, but He also wants to bless others through you.
Keep Changing!
Don’t become discouraged by how far you still have to go. Look at how far you’ve come!
You’re responding differently, forgiving faster, making wiser decisions and becoming more generous.
That’s growth!
Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep moving forward.
You are changing—and you are changing for the better!
