Escaping The Unwanted Life

Escaping The Unwanted Life

I’ve been there. Living a life I really didn’t want. Doing things that didn’t bring me the greatest level of satisfaction. Not doing enough of the things I really wanted to do. Sometimes, I find myself back there. But I refuse to stay there.

If that’s you, I have good news for you. You don’t have to live an unwanted life. You can live the life that you want. A life that makes you excited everyday of your existence. Today, I’m going to unpack a few thoughts that I think can help you transition into your dream life:

1. See things differently.
See your life for how it could be than just for how it is. This takes courage and awareness. You have both. Use them to your advantage. Courage is the mental and emotional fortitude to say to yourself, “God has more for me. I want more for myself and I’m not going to live like this anymore."

Awareness is knowing. Most people know what to do to get out of a mundane life. They just don’t take those next steps. I encourage you to take those next steps. Move in the direction of your dream life and your spirit will go, “ahhh.”

2. Get on with your life.
I have a tendency to wait for perfect circumstances. I like all my ducks in a perfect row before I do stuff. But I’ve realized it causes me to be stuck in certain parts of my life. I’ve decided that I don’t want that kind of life anymore. I’ve embraced the fact that I have the power to change anything I don’t want in my life. The good news is - you do, too! Check this Scripture out:

"Don’t sit there watching the wind. Do your own work. Don’t stare at the clouds. Get on with your life." - Ecclesiastes 11:4 (MSG)

I love the last part: “Don’t stare at the clouds. GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE!” That’s the key to not having an unwanted life. Don’t let procrastinating keep you from enjoying your life. Do the stuff you really want to do. Imagine all the fun you’re going to have.

3. Get involved with this big world.
At some point in your life, you’re going to have to accept the fact that you are not a solo act. You were born into a big world that God expects you to interact with. You’ll never really have a satisfying life without interacting with people.

You’re going to have to break-free from social barriers you may have put up. Learn to talk to and spend quality time with people. Get into some business partnerships. Engage new clients. Involve yourself in social media. Go to various places and make new discoveries.

There has to be some level of human exchange going on in your life. The greater the exchange, the better and more desirable your life will be. Get ready to escape the unwanted life!
