Life’s A Beach
Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m far from being a Hip Hop head. I didn’t grow up listening to rap or Hip-Hop music. My mother introduced me to R&B music early on. So, that was my thing along with some Pop music. However, some time ago, I was somewhere and I heard this song by Lil’ Wayne called, “Right Above It.” In this song, there’s a line that grabbed my attention. Here’s the line: “Life’s a beach, I’m just playing in the sand.” What is Lil’ Wayne saying? He’s saying life is good and he’s having fun. I have always believed and still believe this should be the testimony of every believer in the kingdom of God.
Your Belief Determines Your Experience
I’m well aware there’s serious problems in the world and people are struggling all around us. My thought is, “What does that have to do with you?” Your life can be what you want it to be. It can really be like a beach with you “playing in the sand.” It boils down to what you BELIEVE. If you believe life was meant to be a struggle, then you will struggle. But if you believe life is good and meant to be enjoyed, you will end up loving your life and having a blast. This is why Jesus said, “According to YOUR FAITH let it be done to you” (Matthew 9:29, NIV). The Message Bible says, “Become what you believe.” Jesus was confirming that your belief determines your experience.
It’s Time to Have Fun
Most of us have had fun experiences here and there. It would be a lie to say that we never enjoyed various moments in our lives. But unfortunately, for many of us, much more of our lives have been flat, slow and monotonous. This is NOT the will of God. His will is: FUN! Fun looks different for everyone because we are all different people. You know the saying, “Different strokes for different folks.” Nevertheless, we all know when life is boring and hum drum. It’s doesn’t take a college degree to discern what’s going on in one’s life.
You Are In Control
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned from my spiritual father, the late Kenneth Hagin and one of my spiritual mentors the later Apostle Fred Price is that, “I’m in control.” They didn’t serve a theology of uncontrolled fate. The concept that “what will be will be.” As our brothers and sisters say in Europe, “Rubbish!” Lol!! The truth is, you have the power to change your circumstances and live life on your terms. The beach is waiting for you!
