You’re a Manifested Promise
If you were at church last Sunday, you found out that you are a MANIFESTED PROMISE! This is an amazing word for anyone who believes it and understands the dynamic power this truth holds.
In the Old Testament, God made a promise though His prophet Hosea that a new day was coming in the future. In this new day, He’d make the people who were not His people His people. And the people who were not beloved would be called beloved. The Apostle Paul quotes from the book of Hosea to let us know that it’s you God the Father was talking about. Check out this Scripture:
25 As He says also in Hosea:
“I will call them My people, who were not My people,
And her beloved, who was not beloved.”
26 “And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them,
‘You are not My people,’
There they shall be called sons of the living God.” - Romans 9:25-26
Get ready for your heart to leap for joy as we unpack this. There’s 3 things this passage clearly pinpoints:
1. You are the people of God.
This is huge! This means that you belong to God and you are connected to Him forever. You’re not just His by creation. You are His by covenant. Wow! That will preach! I want you to get excited about this. This truth about your identity will take you on a journey of security and establish within your soul feelings of belonging to God. You’ll know, without a shadow of doubt, that you belong to the Father and you’re apart of His household. You are not on the outside. You’re on the inside.
Don’t ever allow yourself to feel left out and disregarded. Especially when the God of Heaven and earth has eternally included and called you His own. Shout, “Glory!”
2. You are beloved.
It’s no secret. Everybody wants to be loved. God created you to be loved. So, don’t even say you don’t care about that. I’ll punch you. Lol! To be beloved means to be “near and dear” to the heart of God. The Father loves you passionately and His feelings are warm towards you.
Here’s what’s awesome…you’re not going to be beloved someday when you reach some great level of spiritual perfection. No, you are beloved…RIGHT NOW! When you’re on your best behavior, God deeply loves you. When you’re not on your best behavior, God still calls you His dear child. Isn’t that exciting to know? To be perfectly honest, it will fill your LOVE BANK like nothing else will.
3. You are sons of the living God.
Now this is a MIND BLOWING revelation! Even the apostle John said, “Consider this: The Father has given us his love. He loves us so much that we are actually called God’s dear children. And that’s what we are…” (1 John 3:1, NOG). When he said, “Consider this…” he was saying this is something so monumental it has to be paid close attention to. John also said, “And that’s what we are…” He wanted you to see that this is your true identity. You are legitimately kids of the living God.
To be God’s son is to have His nature and His life inside of you. To be God’s son means that you’re His heir and what’s His is yours. Like I said early…MIND BLOWING!!!
Here’s something else to consider. The understanding of your identity as a son should lead you to closer communion with your Heavenly Father. Look at this scripture:
“And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” - Galatians 4:6
Your sonship gives you direct access to the Father. Please don’t waste this New Covenant blessing! Cry out to Him and let Him love on you, pour His wisdom in you and give you more grace. For indeed, you are His manifested promise.
