Your Life is Precious

I have good news for you! Your life is a gift from God and it’s precious in His sight.

In Psalm 22:20, David says, “Deliver Me from the sword, MY PRECIOUS LIFE from the power of the dog.”

Then in Psalm 35:17, David says, “Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue me from their destructions, MY PRECIOUS LIFE from the lions.”

The word precious means:
🎈of great value; not to be wasted or treated carelessly.
🎈greatly loved or treasured by someone.

David saw his life as precious. Today more than ever, it’s imperative that you see your life as precious. It is not to be wasted or treated carelessly.

I’m going to give a few things that automatically happens when you treasure yourself:

1. You actually wake up with excitement.
It’s one of the best feelings in the world to wake up feeling good about yourself and about your life. When you treasure yourself, this kind of feeling is always on repeat. I constantly live in a good mood because of the value I put on me and my life.

2. You pray more positively and joyfully.
Listen, prayer is your connection to Heaven. It’s your communication with the Father and that communication will be positive and joyful when you treasure yourself. You’ll claim things for yourself knowing that you’re worthy of those things.

You’ll even supplicate for others knowing your Heavenly Father is eager to hear you and answer your prayers. You’ll say like the apostle John,

”14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” - 1 John 5:14-15

3. You won’t tolerate put downs from others.
When you see your life as precious, you won’t let others demean what God has esteemed. A holy boldness will be present with you at all times and you’ll dismiss every negative word spoken against you.

Here’s something to remember: Once you start greatly valuing YOU, others will value you, also. Selah (Pause and think about it).

4. You’ll live in expectation of God’s favor manifesting in your life.
The favor of God is all over your life. People who see their lives as precious know and believe this. They expect something good to happen to them everyday.

Let this be the year that you truly treasure your life and keep moving forward by the grace of God.
