Your Presence is His Desire

Your Presence is His Desire

The number one thing the Father desires from you is your presence. This is one of the reasons for your existence. The psalmist David says, “3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 what is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?” (Psalm 8:3-4). David was acknowledging that with everything that has been created, the thing on God’s mind is being with you.

In truth, Jesus was sent to take away your sins that God may dwell in you and be with you forever. So, hanging out with the Father starts here and now. When we plan out our days, being in the Father’s presence should be at the top of our list like it was with Jesus. The Scripture states: “Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He (Jesus) went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed” (Mark 1:35). If you study the life of Jesus, you will see He prayed early and often.

Therefore, we should copy the lifestyle of Jesus and the good news is it comes with benefits. Here are 5 ways you can benefit from being in the presence of Jesus:

  1. You will receive a reward. Hebrews 11:6: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

  2. He will show you your future. Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

  3. You will know the next steps you need to take. Luke 6:12-13 12 Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. 13 And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles…”

  4. You will be empowered to overcome. Matthew 17:21 “However, this kind (demon) does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

  5. You will get what you asked for. Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

There is so much more that can happen when you get into the presence of God. The Lord is inexhaustible and can do so much for you. I want to encourage you to spend these days more often in His presence, making it a lifestyle. He desires to be with you and wants to hear from you. I want to leave you with this quote from Pastor Maurice: “Prayerslessness is wasted access.”
