You Rock!

You Rock!

I actually think I’m an amazing person. I really do love myself. You may ask where did this come from? My authentic answer is…Jesus! Finding out who I am in Him since I was born again at the age of 14 has literally turned my life upside down. All the low self esteem, idolatry, etc went out the door when I met Him. The Holy Spirit has done a mighty work in me through the Word of God and I’ve come to realize that I rock. Here’s the good news: So do YOU!

A Gift to the World

You are exactly who the Father wants. You are His inheritance. You are His kid. He has made you AMAZING, INTERESTING and a gift to this world. Your job is to spend a lifetime unwrapping this great gift that you are. How does one unwrap themselves? I’m going to give you three simple points that will help you be authentically you:

1. Express your genuine self at all times.

Don’t shrink back for no one! Get this through your head. You will not be liked and loved by everyone. And you have to be ok with that. You may be too much for some people and that’s ok. Be you! The real is who the world needs to see, feel and hear.

If you’ve put a mask on to fit in and guard yourself from feeling rejected, take the mask off. Feel the power of being genuine and honest with who you are. I love this statement by John Mason, “You were born an original. Don’t die a copy.”

2. Do what you’re best at.

God has given you specific gifts, talents and abilities. It’s time for you to do what suits you. When King Saul put his armor on David to fight Goliath, David said emphatically, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” The Bible goes on to say, “So David took them off” (1 Samuel 17:39).

I want to encourage you to take off what doesn’t suit you. Take off other people’s ideas of what you should look like, how you should live. Do what works best for you. Do what’s going to unwrap the gift that you are.

I love how the very next verse says, “Then he took his staff in his hand; and HE CHOSE FOR HIMSELF five smooth stones from the brook… (1 Samuel 17:40). What have you chosen for yourself? Whatever it is, that’s what’s going to give you the push to be a winner in life.

3. Get out of your head.

Sometimes we’re in our head too much. I remember when someone sent me a text in the beginning of 2023 that said, “Get out of your head. Don’t overthink.” It was definitely a word of prophetic encouragement that was addressing a habit I had and still have at times of overthinking. When you’re in your head too much, you experience “paralysis by analysis.” Instead of moving forward, you end up at a stand still. This is not what you want for your life. It’s not what I want for my life. Most of all, it’s not what God wants for you. So, make the decision to think, but not overthink. Amen? Amen!

I’m excited about you being authentically you and rocking who you are! I bless you and remind you that you can do all that God designed you to do. You are powerful, you are strong, and you are well able.
