I am a Child of God
Today, more than ever, you must know you are a child of God. It’s a mind-blowing revelation! To be someone’s child means that you are their seed and that they gave birth to you. Biologically, we know that the seed or sperm comes from the father and the egg comes from the mother. The mother is the one who gives birth to the child. If there’s any discrepancy as to whose child you are, you can take a DNA test and it will conclude who your father is.
Spiritually speaking, it’s the same way. You are God’s seed and, by His Spirit, He gave birth to you. Thus, making you a child of God. This is why we use the term “new birth” or “born again.” This is literally what happened to you when you gave your life to Christ. You were born again and the Father’s DNA is in you. He’s literally your Daddy and you are literally His child.
1. I am child of God because God loves me.
"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him." – 1 John 3:1 (ESV)
In other words, John was saying LOVE DID THIS! God’s love for you made you His son. God’s love for you made you His daughter. To be called a child of God is the highest honor that God the Father can demonstrate towards you. The Apostle Paul confirmed that it was God’s deep love that made you a part of His family.
"Because of his love, God had already decided to make us his own children through Jesus Christ. That was what he wanted and what pleased him." – Ephesians 1:5 (New Century Version)
This verse confirms that no one twisted God’s arm into loving you and making you one of His children. He adopted you into His family out of His own desire and pleasure. You are a child of God and that will never change because His love for you will never change.
2. I am a child of God and I have the right to call Him Father.
“6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” – Galatians 4:6-7
Slaves don’t call their owner, ‘Father.’ They call him, ‘master’ or ‘lord’ knowing that they are only servants. You are no longer a slave, but a son or daughter of the living God. You get the privilege and have the right to call your God, “Abba, Father!” This speaks of the tender and special relationship you have with Him. Do you realize angels don’t have this special relationship with God the Father? Look at what the apostle Paul says in the book of Hebrews chapter 1:5, "For to which of the angels did He every say: “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”? And again: “I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son?"
In his 2018 Shepherd’s Rod book, Prophet Bobby Conner says, “As this message of sonship unfolds, it will drive away an orphan spirit that has been plaguing the body of Christ. The wicked orphan spirit seeks to defame the Father’s heart toward His children.”
I’m here to announce to you, that you are not an orphan. You are God’s undeniable child and He will never let you go. He will always love you, take care of you and protect you.
3. I am a child of God and I’m not afraid of anything.
"For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” – Romans 8:15
You have nothing to be afraid of. God has called you out of slavery into freedom. He has called you out of fear into security. You no longer have to be concerned about crossing your “t’s” and dotting your “i’s” when it comes to living for God. You don’t have to worry about God condemning you because He has forgiven you and nailed all of your sins and shortcomings to the Cross of Christ. You can say like the songwriter said, “It is well with my soul.”
