Identity Revolution
What is a revolution? A revolution can be defined as “a complete or radical change of any kind.” In the realm of the Spirit, there’s a revolution brewing and it’s what I’m calling, “The Identity Revolution.” The Holy Spirit is endeavoring to bring a radical change to the thinking of God’s people that will bring us into the full knowledge and inheritance of who we are in Christ.
Winners Church, we are blessed to be a part of this revolution. Part of my God-given assignment in the body of Christ and as your pastor is to declare who you are and teach you about the intricacies of how God made you. I’m going to help you see yourself as God sees you and help you live as God intended for you to live. Here’s some “Identity Revolution” facts that you should know and be well aware of:
Fact #1: Your true identity comes from God. God is THE SOURCE OF EVERYTHING including who YOU ARE! Your make-up and your meaning come from Him alone. This is why He gets all the glory for the incredible and remarkable way He’s made you in Christ. The Apostle Paul says, “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:30-31).
Fact #2: Your identity in Christ is permanent and perpetual. Who and what God has made you to be is not going to change and it continues from here into eternity. Did you know that Christ’s identity is permanent and perpetual? Look at what Paul says in the book of Hebrews about Jesus, “But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood” (Hebrews 7:24). And since you’re in Christ, what’s true about Him is true about you. Who you are will continue forever and is unchangeable. Now that’s something to shout about!
Fact #3: Your identity is a prophetic promise fulfilled. Through the prophet Hosea, God declared that He would bring the Gentile world into a special place and privilege with Him. Look at what He said, “As He says also in Hosea: 'I will call them My people, who were not My people, And her beloved, who was not beloved'” (Romans 9:25). Wow! We are BELOVED! We are God’s PEOPLE! Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that cause for rejoicing? Yes, it is! And it’s all because of the finished work of Christ. So, go ahead and rejoice! The identity revolution is well on its way. Yeeeeaaahh!!!!
