I Am Growing

I can honestly say, “I am growing.” I am growing in the anointing. I am growing in my personal prayer and worship time. I am growing in purity and clarity of purpose. In the last four months, I’ve grown much closer to the Lord and it’s been wonderful.

Guess what? You can have the same testimony if you do one thing: Spend time in God’s presence. His presence is the greatest catalyst for growth in every area of your life. When you spend time with the Father, you’re going to see a dynamic pattern of development.

1. You’re going to grow in grace.
No one grows in grace without spending time with the “God of all grace.” John described his and the other disciples personal experience with Jesus when he said, “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace” (John 1:16). This will be your story as you spend time with Him in personal prayer, praise, worship and the Word.

2. You’re going to grow in power.
The power of God is not just for preachers. The power of God is for all believers. You are supposed to be a recipient and a releaser of God’s power. Didn’t Jesus say,“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” (Acts 1:8)? In context, Jesus was talking to His disciples, but it wasn’t just the twelve who were in the upper room when the Holy Spirit came upon them. It was 120 people and they all received power. Why? Because they were waiting on God. They all “…were continually in the temple praising and blessing God” (Luke 24:53). As you spend time praising and blessing God, His power will increase in your life. You’ll be more bold. You’ll see more dynamic results in praying for the sick. You’ll exercise greater authority over demonic strongholds. You’ll declare things and they will be established quicker because of the power of God.

3. You’re going to grow in love and kindness.
The Bible says, “…God is love” (1 John 4:8). If you’re spending time with the Father, His love will be stirred up in you for people and you’re going to be more kind towards them. The Bible teaches that kindness is a fruit of the Spirit (seeGalatians 5:22). As you grow in your intimate walk with God, kindness will be flowing from your heart. A new level of courtesy and compassion will come from you to others. What’s more, you’ll be known for warm-hearted acts of helpfulness.

4. You’re going to grow in generosity.
God the Father is not stingy in any regard. He is the most generous of all living beings. In describing the goodness of God, David said, “You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing” (Psalm 145:16). As you spend time with God, you will, also, open your hand and lavish your favor on others. As you might imagine, your level of generosity will greatly increase and you’ll gladden the heart of God.

I invite you to release your generosity right now and give a special Christmas offering to Winners Church. Help us to keep preaching the good news, demonstrating God’s power and simply growing as a church. Some of you can sow thousands. Others of you can sow hundreds.
