Where Are You?

Where Are You?

We are 34 days into the New Year and I have a question for you: Where are you? Where are you in your thinking? Where are you emotionally? Where are you in your friendships? Where are you in your marriage? Where are you financially? Where are you in the fulfillment of this year’s goals? Knowing where you are matters so much! It’s the launching pad for your next step. If you’re not conscious of where you are, your next step will be a misstep. Missteps lead to unnecessary mistakes that produce unnecessary pain and problems. It also slows down momentum. So, again I ask, “Where are you?”

The First Question
This is the question God the Father asked the first man Adam after he sinned and threw the entire human race into a death spiral. What’s interesting is that God didn’t immediately start blasting him. He didn’t say, “How could you have done this? I’m so disgusted with you. You’ve ruined this Paradise I’ve made for you. You’re going to Hell right now.”

No, He tenderly and softly approached Adam with the question, “Where are you?” My, my, my! What a question. This is the first question God is recorded in Scripture ever asking. When God asks a question, it’s not for information. He already knew where Adam was. The purpose of the question was to make Adam think and examine himself.

Give Yourself an Answer
As you pause and examine yourself, where are you? Are you in the middle of God’s perfect will for your life? Are you walking worthy of God’s call on your life? Are you resisting the devil and his temptations to sin? Are you accomplishing your goals? Where are you?

Are you managing your money well? Is there anything you’re avoiding in your life? Are you taking care of your body? How’s your marriage? How’s your social life going? Are you living a pure life? In other words, where are you?

Whatever your answer is to these questions, know that the Father loves you and is for you. As you think and examine yourself, don’t be hard on yourself. God is not hard on you. He is gently leading you and making life good for you. He will help you make any adjustments you need to make to your life in 2023. Receive His help and make it an amazing year of momentum.
